Tick Tock Tick Tock. . . In the silence the clock on the wall is loud and the ticking drowns out all thoughts from my head. As I listen now to that sound that keeps the deafening silence at bay, I realize that I’m only wishing my life away as I sit here thinking of what the future holds. The future, I’m told, is uncertain and can’t be predicted. Don’t live in the past, they say, don’t worry about the future, it’s best just to live in the present. The present is what is important, it’s your life right now that you should enjoy. The ticking of the clock just grows louder and now it’s impossible to drown out as I realize how much time I’m wasting just pacing and worrying about what’s to come. Now that present is already the past and it is a past I can look past as I decide to finally live in the present and enjoy making my life last.
The gist of this post is that the past should no longer matter, the future is uncertain, and it’s your life right now you should focus on.
